The bible, the WORD OF GOD says in hebrews 9-27 “And as it is APPOINTED for men to die once, but after this, the JUDGMENT. there is no more opportunity according with what just read. besides, and pay attention to the following, 1 corinthians 15-29,30 Paul says:otherwise, what will “THEY” do who are baptized for the dead…? and why do “WE” stand in….?Paul doesn’t say WE when speaks about baptism for the dead, he says THEY, BUT!!! in the next verse, he is speaking about the stand in jeopardy and say WE, in others words he would used WE for both verses IF he was speaking of the same brotherhood, …got it?
Hey, first of all, thanks for coming to the site, I appreciate the traffic, especially from someone who’s interested in the scriptures.
I don’t agree with your interpretation of the scriptures, but that’s not really the crux of the matter. First, as Latter-day Saints we don’t hold that every word of the Bible is laid down in perfection, so arguing over pronouns is foreign to my nature. I understand how important it is in your tradition, I really do, and by your interpretation you’re correct. I simply don’t subscribe to that believe in the complete infallibility of the Bible.
Second, baptisms for the dead is not a scary, shrouded practice, it is an open, kind, and well-intentioned gesture to every other person who every lived on this earth. It may not be in your faith tradition, but it’s focused on Christ and His Redeeming Power, as well as His command to everyone to be baptized.
